The facial appearance is the combination of the different substructures that form it, such as cheekbones (malars), chin (chin), nose, mouth, cheek, etc. Sometimes there is a lack of harmony, whether congenital or acquired as a consequence of aging that produces an aesthetic alteration. Facial implants and lipofilling (filling with the patient’s own fat or lipoimplant) allow us to treat these alterations, obtaining a more harmonious face.
Cheek augmentation: To increase the size of the cheekbones, Dr Forcada is in favor of filling with the patient’s own fat, or in other words, lipofilling. The intervention lasts less than 1 hour and is performed with local anesthesia + sedation. During this procedure, fat is obtained from the abdominal wall, which is refined and centrifuged, so that the finally infiltrated fat is of the highest quality possible and burns to a greater extent. Postoperatively it is not painful and the return to work life is immediate.
Chin augmentation: To increase the size and projection of the chin there are multiple techniques, from silicone facial implants, lipoimplants or even mentoplasty (bone advancement of the chin). The choice of one technique or another will depend on the patient’s facial structure and will be discussed in depth with Dr Forcada.
The facial chin implant is an intervention that lasts approximately 1 hour and is performed under general anesthesia. The incision is usually placed below the chin, in a location where it is completely hidden. The postoperative period is not painful and the return to work life is immediate.
