The bichat ball is a pocket of fat located on the cheek that gives greater volume to this region. In some individuals it is increased in size, giving the appearance of a very round face even though the person is not overweight or obese. In these cases, the treatment consists of partial or total removal of said fat pad through two small incisions through the mouth.
The intervention lasts approximately 1 hour and is performed under general anesthesia. The postoperative period is not painful and the return to work life is immediate.
